7 Ways to Prevent Flu

It’s time to bid goodbye to sunnies, swimmies and colorful summer outfits It is the rainy season once again. Time to say hello to raincoats, comfy sweaters and fun-looking umbrellas. However, with this bed weather season also comes our most-dreaded flu. How do we prevent ourselves from getting all sick this rainy season? How do we stay healthy and away from flu? Here’s how.

It is considered that the single best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated each year, Everyone 6 months of age or older should get the flu vaccine as soon as it is available in your area. The vaccine is engineered to protect against the flu strains health experts believe will be most widespread each season. Some flu vaccines protect against three flu strains (trivalent). Other guard against four strains (quadrivalent). The ideal time to get the flu shot is early fall. But any time during the winter is fine if you haven’t already gotten it.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick. On the other hand, once you are the one who is sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.

  • Stay home when you are sick.
If possible, stay home from work, school, and errands when you are sick. This will help in preventing others from catching your illness.

  • Cover your mouth and nose.
Not only for good etiquette purposes, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing to prevent those around you from getting sick.Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

  • Clean your hands. Perform regular handwashing.
Washing your hands often and regularlywith soap and water will help protect you from germs. If soap and water are not available, you may use an alcohol-based hand rub. You may also carry an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with you for times when a sink isn’t available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.

  • Practice other good health habits.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. These are to make sure that you have a strong immune system which is in good enough shape to fight off the flu and other germs.

  1. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
